Homeschool Challenges
Homeschool is an amazing experience. I cannot share enough how beautiful and wonderful it is to be with my children. My favorite part is the ability to create a solid foundation rooted in God’s word.
That said, homeschooling doesn’t come with out its challenges. Today I’m going to share with you our #cmhomeschoolchallenges.
1. Morning Time Flow
Throughout the whole school year I was trying to figure out what was the best rhythm for our morning time. There are so many suggestions for morning time that I was lost. I was also trying to fit everything into the our beauty loop. Now that it’s summer and I have shrunk our Morning Time and found it more pleasant. Our Morning Time now consists of Bible/Reading/Beauty loop.
2. Finding the right curriculum
Finding the right curriculum was really hard. The curriculum that I was excited for didn’t work for my daughter. I needed something more consistent and living books for history did not work for her. I finally decided to go with Masterbooks, which she loves and I will add living books for a deeper dive.
3. Homeschool community
We moved to our new home in the middle of the pandemic. So there were no homeschool communities meeting up. Now that things are opening up again, we are going to look again for a homeschool community.
Homeschooling has a learning curve. I’m happy to finally have found a Morning Time rhythm and curriculum that works for our family. I will be adding my children to extra curricular activities to add the socializing portion to our homeschool.
