My Homeschool Blueprint

It is crunch time and I'm still working out the details of next year. To help me out with next year's plan, I'm using my homeschool blueprint.

My trick is to combine as many subjects in to family time. This includes enrichment subjects and core subjects like History, Geography, and even Science in the elementary school level.

These subjects can be combined and taught as a family because they are topic subjects. Combining them will help you save time, money, and keep you sane.

Individual studies are skill based studies> They include assignments from the topic based subject lesson, math, and English Language Arts.

Once I've figured out what curriculum I'm using, I write it down in my blueprint. From there, I start lesson planning.

I like to chunk my day into categories:

Morning Time: Bible and beauty subjects like picture study, music, poetry, tales, and read alouds.

Lesson Time: Geography, History, Science, Spanish, Nature Study

Solo Time: Assignments from the lesson of the day, math, ELA

Tea Time: Handicrafts, art, habits, personal development

I also add a goal for the year. My goal for this year is to stick to a curriculum and not hop around.

What is your goal for the year? How do you plan out the year?

P.S. You can get a copy of my blueprint here.
