How to include your family

Homeschooling doesn’t just have to be a one-person job. You can include your family in the process. Start with your husband. What skills or hobbies do your husband have that can be an elective for your children. Ask your children’s grandparents to help teach a skill that you may not know or be good at.

One of my dreams is to have a beautiful garden. What I’ve discovered about myself, is that I just want to sit or walk in the garden. Not necessarily get my hands dirty and plant. I honestly became overwhelmed at starting a garden. My husband knows about my dream and decided to take on the project.

With the help of my father-in-law, who works on farms, my husband and his dad put together a nice little garden together. My children are now learning about how to grow and take care of plants. They are learning about where food comes from and thankfully they are at an age where it’s fun to get one’s hands dirty.

Gardening has become an elective in our home and they are enjoying it. They actually love to eat the food that they harvest. It’s more fun that way too.
