New Kids Corner

This summer we will be studying the Birds & the Bees using books and recommendations from the Birds Bees course.

In addition to the reading books, we are also teaching out children that there are boundaries pertaining to our home. We teach them that their bedrooms are private and off limits. I believe this is a good value to learn because we adults don’t go wandering into our hosts bedrooms. They are off limits.

To accommodate the children we have a kids corner. Our new kid’s corner is up and it’s located in the living room area next to the kitchen. I believe a small dining table is usually in that area.

The purpose of the kids corner is allow children to play in a safe space while we the adults talk. All the toys in the corner are meant to be shared with guests. Toys that the kids don’t want their friends to play with are to be left in their bedroom.

We recently had guests over our home and the parents loved this idea. We are and talked and no one was running to the rooms to check on the kids. We were actually more relaxed and at ease as the children played.
