Morning Time for 2022-2023

When I first started homeschooling, I kept hearing about morning time but didn’t know what it was or the purpose behind it. Plus everyone has their own twist to it. This made it confusing to me.

It has only been recently that I have understood the purpose of Morning Time and how to approach it. Morning Time sets the tone for the day. It is a time to focus on what is true, good, and beautiful.

For morning time I like to focus on three subject areas: Bible (Truth), Reading (Goodness), and the Arts (Beauty). I’ll show you how I break things down.

Daily: Calendar, pledge, Scripture Memory, Catechism question, Bible basic, hymn

I keep the daily readings in a folder in sheet protectors, we read it once and move on.

Then we go into the morning time feast followed by a loop. A loop tackles all the things we want to do but don’t have time to do them in a daily basis.

Monday: Bible/Reading/Music Study
Tuesday: Bible/Reading/Poetry Study
Wednesday: Bible/Reading/Art Study
Thursday: Bible/Reading/Character Study
Friday: World View/ Nature Study

I believe Morning Time is a wonderful way to get excited about learning.

Note*** not everyone’s morning time is going to look the same. The purpose to start school or the day with a beautiful rhythm based on Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.

How do you start your mornings?
