2024-2024 Curriculum Picks
One of the hardest things for me to do is to pick a curriculum and then stick to it. However after 3 years of mother-teaching, I feel like I have a better grasp on what I like and what works for my family.
The Foundation:
My method of choice is a Classical Charlotte Mason Education. I am using The Children’s Tradition from @mrsamandafaus as the spine of our homeschool. I love this curriculum because more than anything it creates a sort of standards along with some suggestions as well as giving the mother-teacher a lot of room to choose what works best for her family. This is what I needed in order to keep me from bouncing around.
So now for how I divide my day and what curriculum I use there.
Benediction Table
- Bible Curriculum: Answers in Genesis
- Apologetics: @foundation_worldview
- Scripture Memory & Hymn: @agentlefeast
- Beauty: A Gentle Feast
- Tales & Character Development: @ayearof_learning
- Read-alouds: I’m picking (Novel, Christian History, Historical Fiction)
The Family Feast:
All resources for the feast are coming @masterbooks, geography, which is coming from @simplycharlottemason, and language arts from A Gentle Feast.
Tea Time:
Tea time is basically afternoon snack time that includes milk, snack, tales, art, & handicrafts. For handicrafts, I have the children pick out one handicraft from Target. For art development, we are taking classes from @malleryjaneart, which I highly recommend and seriously is the class I was looking for.
I will say, I am at peace with this curriculum choice and I’m looking forward to a wonderful year.
How is your year coming along?
