5 Venezuelan Christmas Carols I Like

Thanksgiving is over and the Christmas season has arrived. I love this season for the story, the decorations and the music.

I grew up listening to Venezuelan Christmas Carols and Christmas is not the same without them. I’ve started introducing them to my children and they are growing to love them too.

If you are interested in including Christmas carols in Spanish, let me share my top four Venezuelan Christmas Carols.

1. Niño Lindo: This is our all time favorite. It’s even been translated and included in the Methodist hymn book. It’s describes baby Jesus and how he comforts us.

2. Cantemos, Cantemos: This Christmas Carol is a praise song to our savior.

3. De Contento: This Christmas Carol is another hymn to baby Jesus.

4. Esplendida Noche: This Christmas Carol sings about the evening when Jesus was born. It talks about us adoring the humble baby.

5. Burrito Sabanero: This fun Christmas Carol is known all over Latin America and talks about a one going to visit the baby Jesus with the cuatro (national Venezuelan instrument) and praising him with it.

These Christmas carols bring me beautiful memories and even some tears to my eyes when I listen to them.

The rhythms are in the traditional Venezuelan style that include the cuatro, a four string mini guitar like the Ukelele but different.

I hope you enjoy listening to these Christmas carols.
