The Bible is the Foundation of Truth
Charlotte Mason believe that the Bible is the foundation for truth. Her love for God and how she made home a part of her philosophy of education really captured me.
“Such a recognition of the work of the Holy Spirit as the Educator of mankind, in things intellectual as well as in things moral and spiritual, gives us “new thoughts of God, new hopes of Heaven,” a sense of harm key in efforts and acceptance of all that we are.”
- Charlotte Mason (Parents and Children, p. 276)
My daughter has been asking me some serious questions based on what is going on in the news. My husband and I decided to address the issue in a way she could understand using the Bible to better answer her questions.
Before speaking with her I prayed and asked God to give me wisdom and the right words to address her questions. After speaking with her she seemed to have a better understanding of what is right and wrong. I’m really glad she feels comfortable to ask us these questions.
When we make the Bible the foundation of truth and present evidence for it, it is much easier to talk to children about sensitive subjects.
How do you address sensitive subjects?
