Nature Study Curriculum

Today, we had a wonderful morning exploring nature. We joined our Wild and Free @wildandfree.co local group and played in a local pond that I didn’t know about.

The benefits of exploring nature for kids include:

* Showing God’s creation as evidence of his existence.
* Teaching children how to be careful in nature.
* Teaching children confidence through nature.
* How to observe and take care of God’s creation.

If you haven’t joined a Wild and Free group, I highly recommend that you do so. It’s not a coop but it’s almost like it is for nature study.

After our morning in nature, we wrote down in our nature journal what we saw and what we liked most of our day.

For the year 2021-2022, we will be using Kim Andrews book Exploring Nature Activity Book for Kids from @learningbarefoot. Her books are so simple to use and engaging, I can’t wait. We will use them as part of our Wild & Free Fridays.

After our Wild and Free mornings, we’ll come home and record what we saw in our notebooks and do an activity from your main book. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
