Bible Time is Self-care
Have you ever considered reading the Bible as self-care?
Self-care is usually packaged as something that you do for yourself. So it’s focused a lot of pretty fun stuff and you, which is why those activities only bring us temporary peace.
Today, I want to give you an idea for self-care that brings you joy: read the Bible.
Reading the Bible in the morning is the best way to start the day with Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
When we focus our mornings on learning who God is, His attributes, we are bound to imitate Him. When we learn about how his people turned away from Him and yet, He remained faithful, it gives us hope despite our sins and short comings.
When we read the Bible, we learn about God’s steadfast love, how He is slow to anger, He gentleness, He is goodness, and before you know it you are internalizing His joy, and and displaying the fruits of the Spirit.
There is no better self-care than reading the Bible.
Have you considered reading the Bible a form of self-care?
