A Day in the Life: Mother Culture Edition

When Lady A discussed mother-culture she was referring to reading good books. Specifically a fun book, and a richer book. However, according to Webster the word culture also refers to “the characteristic features of everyday existence”. This means mother culture includes our daily habits and rituals as well as reading books.
In the past, when talking about a day in the life, I have focused on our homeschool schedule. Today, I want to share how I make time to nourish my body, mind, and soul on a daily basis.
Currently my mother culture consists of:
* Reading/listening to the Bible
* working out
* reading and common placing
* going on a short walk
* baking bread (weekly)
* Watercoloring (when there’s time)
* letter writing to friends (Mondays)
I try to fit in all these activities either on a daily or weekly schedule. Presently, my schedule is looking something like this:
Morning Time:
* 5:45 am - get up, get dressed, listen to the Bible
* 6:30 am - workout (currently I’m using Beachbody)
* 7:00 - 8 am - work on my projects.
Quiet Time:
* 1-3 pm - Wholehearted quiet time, read and common place
Tea Time:
* 3-4 pm - read watercolor, baking with children (still counts I think) they are my companions
Walk & Make Dinner:
* 4pm - pickup mail and go for a short walk
* 4:30 ish - make dinner
Weekends:
* Bake bread
All in all, I try to incorporate time to nourish my heart, mind, and soul throughout the day. I don’t always get to everything and although I do have a schedule in this post, most of the days I’m behind. However sticking to a block of activities has helped me stay consistent.
